Japan Diaries 4: Week 24 - KC Edition

Week 24: April 11 - 15, 2022 - KC EDITION

Day 161: April 11, 2022

Monday - Flight to Osaka

Ella saying goodbye to Lola, Tita Aya, and Tito Pat

After saying goodbye to our family in Cavite, my father-in-law, together with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law drove me and Ella to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) for our 2:55PM flight to Kansai International Airport (KIX).

Just arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport

Done checking in our baggage

The plane is finally here!

See you soon Japan!

Upon completing all the required procedures, we boarded Cebu Pacific flight 5J828 and arrived at KIX at around 8PM. Upon arrival, we underwent very strict COVID-19 screening and immigration checks.

Bye for now Manila.

Hello, Kansai!

COVID Screening... the scary part.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Mr. Toshi and Ms. Taeko @Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport

Mr. Toshi and Ms. Taeko were there to welcome us. They accompanied us to our room at the nearby Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport where we checked in for the night. It was an amazing feeling to be able to see them again and aside from that be in Japan again after a while.

Good night!

They didn't stay long though, after they drove back home, Ella and I took our first hot tub dip in Japan. It was so surreal. I can't believe that we are here in Japan already. We can't wait to be with Dada once again.

Day 162: April 12, 2022

Tuesday - Check-in at our Air BnB

Time to check out of Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport but before that, Ella and I had our breakfast first. Sadly, it's a set meal and not a buffet.

Ready for breakfast at The Brasserie at Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport

Enjoying our meal before checking out. Yum!

After breakfast, we checked out of the hotel and looked for the Kansai Tourist Information Center inside the airport to pick up my Mobal SIM Card

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport

Til our next visit!

Kansai Tourist Information Center

Got my Mobal SIM Card

After that, we sent most of our luggage to Rumoi City via the airport luggage delivery service so that it'll be convenient for us to travel around.

Thank you, Mr. Toshi, for picking us up and driving us to our Air BnB place.

Our home until Friday, 民泊 幽舎の庭 / Guest House Garden

Mr. Toshi came to pick us up and drive us to 民泊 幽舎の庭 or Guest House Garden at 〒598-0037 Osaka, Izumisano, 羽倉崎駅上町2-480-1 which will serve as home until Saturday morning.

Look who welcomed us

We went out to the nearest convenience store to buy food.

We did a quick shopping at Family Mart for our food until Friday

Our Airbnb is really spacious and even has a mikan tree in its yard that is ripe with fruits.

Harvested some mikan before dinner

Itadakimasu!

Once Ella and I settled in we walked to the nearby Family Mart to buy snacks and dinner before calling it a day.

Day 163: April 13, 2022

Wednesday - First Full Day Quarantine

Nothing much happened today. We just stayed home, watched some films that we downloaded, and rested.

Look who watched movies the whole day

Here's our dinner for today

Tomorrow, we will take our PCR test at the nearby clinic. If we test negative then we can finally visit Mr. Toshi's family and travel to Hokkaido without restrictions.

Day 164: April 14, 2022

Thursday - PCR Test Day

We are a bit anxious about our PCR test today. Regardless, I'm confident that Ella and I will test negative for COVID-19 as we already had a test before flying to Japan

Going to Rinku Town for our PCR test

Thank you again Mr. Toshi for all your help.

Mr. Toshi was kind enough to accompany us to the health clinic to help us translate and complete the forms for the test. From there, we bid Mr. Toshi farewell and we headed back to Family Mart and bought ourselves dinner.

Rinku Town - Not for tourism but to get a PCR test

Negative!

The results of the PCR test were released at around 8PM and thankfully it all came out negative. This means we can already leave quarantine and fly to Hokkaido to reunite with my husband.

Day 165: April 15, 2022

Friday - Bonding with the Kameyama Family

Freedom at last! Ella and I woke up early and prepared for our bonding with the Kameyama Family.

Quarantine over. We can now go with our Japanese family

Morino Komichi (森の小径) with our Japanese family

Mr. Toshi once again picked us up and drove us to Morino Komichi (森の小径) in Kaizuka City. The place was scenic but the best part of it was the delicious pizza.

Next stop: Little Planet (リトルプラネット ららぽーと和泉)

Explored Lalaport in Kishiwada City

Looking forward to do some camping in the future

After that, we headed to Little Planet (リトルプラネット ららぽーと和泉
) in Lalaport in Kishiwada City. Ella and Karin had a blast playing in the theme park.

I missed Mr. Toshi's cooking

Kameyama Sukiyaki

That night, we headed to the Kameyama Residence where Mr. Toshi cooked his famed Kameyama Sukiyaki for us. We had a blast. After dinner, Mr. Toshi drove us back to our Air BnB residence.
Smile, Yomo

Thank you for today, Mr. Toshi!

Tomorrow, we would fly to New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido Prefecture to finally reunite with my husband.
