Throughout time, the church has survived countless earthquakes and typhoons however, it has no power over the destruction brought by man. Calamba Church, along with most of the houses of its parishioners, was burned by the Japanese during the Second World War. Several years later, Fr. Eliseo Dimaculangan would head the reconstruction of the church. To date, the church has undergone several reconstructions and renovations.

What I like about Calamba Church is the replica of the Garden of Gethsemane complete with life-size statues depicting the religious events that happened in the garden. The church has become one of the most visited churches in Laguna during the Holy Week. So if you're planning to visit, keep in mind that you need to come early because the main problem that you'd face would be looking for a parking space.
