Food Trip: Bag of Beans Tagaytay

What do you think is the best way to fight the cold weather in Tagaytay? A hot soup... A cuddle or a tight hug from someone you love... or perhaps an expensive fur jacket... All these would do, but I'm looking for a particular answer that would serve as my intro to this blog article. Anyway, the answer that I was looking for is... (drum roll please) coffee.

Bag of Beans Tagaytay

Bag of Beans Tagaytay details

Located in Tagaytay City in the province of Cavite, Bag of Beans is a cozy coffee shop and restaurant rolled into one.

Although it doesn't have the Taal volcano factor used by many to lure customers, Bag of Beans has its own means of attracting people -it's the aroma. Who wouldn't be drawn to the smell of freshly brewed coffee, especially on a cold morning? Aside from that, this place also has a very rustic feel which is mixed with a natural and provincial atmosphere.

Trying out the Breakfast buffet

You might want to bring home a bag of coffee.

Let me warn you though, Bag of Beans has gained so much popularity that it is visited by lots of tourists during weekends (especially during holidays.)  If you want to have a feel of the place you better come early or during the weekdays.

Bag of Beans tends to be crowded even at night.

Bag of Beans, not only offers coffee, but they also have delicious cakes like the blueberry cheesecake which my sister really loves. Aside from that, they also serve a buffet breakfast and brunch buffet.

Bag of Beans Rate 2023:

Breakfast buffet: P999 (adults) / P699 (kids)  from 6:30AM to 10:30AM
Lunch buffet: P999 (adults) / P699 (kids) from 11AM to 3PM

Note:
1. You have to pay an additional 10% service charge.
2. You will pay P100 if there are leftovers.
3. You cannot share.

If you want to bring home souvenirs, then you should buy their coffee mugs. It might not look that cute or special but there is the word Bag of Beans in it. You can choose from small, medium and large don't worry only the sizes change.

Bag of Beans Mug souvenir anyone?

When I first visited Bag of Beans years back, I became curious why there were plenty of people crowding its coffee store (and I was outside for Pete's sake) To my amazement everyone was getting their hands on the coffee products particularly the Kapeng Barako and Kapeng Alamid beans (there were also plenty of people buying the mugs... LOL)

Since there were too many customers, I opted to leave and visit some other time. Time and again the place was always full (don't blame me if I only visit Tagaytay during holidays). I finally got a chance to try out the place one Holy Week when my family and I were heading to Batangas for our annual Visita Iglesia. Lucky for me, the food was great... and the coffee.. superb.

You have to try it out to relate with me though... so what are you waiting for. Go! Go! Go!*

*Note: As of my last visit to Tagaytay City (December 2020) I have discovered that there are 3 Bag of Beans stores/restaurants already. If you ask me what's the best, I'd still go for the original one...

Why visit Bag of Beans Tagaytay?

If you like dining in a cozy and relaxed ambiance while experiencing Tagaytay's fine weather, then Bag of Beans is for you. You may choose from the three different branches in Tagaytay, but I highly suggest that you try the main branch first. I also suggest that you avail of the buffet breakfast or lunch. It's worth your money.

Getting to Bag of Beans Tagaytay:

From the Coastal Mall terminal, ride a bus heading to Nasugbu. Tell the conductor to drop you off in front of the Bag of Beans. It is just beside the main highway.
