Munting Buhangin Beach Camp - Batangas

Located in the municipality of Nasugbu in the province of Batangas, Munting Buhangin Beach Camp is one of the few privately owned resorts in the area that doesn't really require memberships for visitors to enjoy.

Munting Buhangin Beach Camp Details

Although Munting Buhangin Beach Camp doesn't have white sand to boast, it's quite an isolated place which makes the resort stand out. Its light brown sand, sprinkled with different kinds of shells, is cleaned daily by the dedicated staff of the resort. Sadly, during my visit, a broken piece of glass buried in the sand gave one of my toes a deep cut but I know that it's just a rare case (no one needs to be fired) and nobody wanted that to happen.

Munting Buhangin Beach Camp is ideal for family bonding, company team building, and dates. The resort's 24-hectare property would surely fit as many as 2,000 people (just be sure to call if you're planning to visit in summer though. You don't want to be the 2,001st visitor.) Speaking of team building, the resort also has several amenities like kayaks, bikes, and a volleyball net that is available for use. There would also be boatmen who would ask you if you want to go on an island-hopping adventure to the Twin Islands.

Why visit Munting Buhangin Beach Camp?

During my visit, I noted some good and not-so-good things about the resort. Read on...

The Positive
  • It's far from civilization. Hence, it will rarely be too crowded. (If it does, then you know it's the peak season.)
  • It's clean. Despite the occasional soda cans or beer bottles left by visitors and being only several miles away from Manila, the resort is surprisingly clean. (No oil spills and carcasses floating around.)
  • It's privately owned and there's an entrance fee. It means that not everyone is going to be able to visit. (Imagine it as a filter.)
  • Its waters are safe for swimming. Yup! no great whites swimming around plus they have lifeguards who are always on the watch. (Sadly, they're dudes so don't expect Bay Watch moments here.)
  • It's perfect for a day tour. If you just want to escape the city for a day then this place is for you.

The Negative

Munting Buhangin Beach - No pets allowed
Sorry Ms. Hilton but your little dogs must stay in the hotel.
  • It's not pet-friendly. A big "No Pets Allowed" tarp would greet you at their gates. (Sorry but Bantay needs to stay home.)
  • It's not for old or disabled people. Before reaching the beach, one needs to walk down what seems like a half-kilometer-long flight of stairs. My wife even got what we Filipinos call binat because of it. (It's a good workout though.)
Ready for a rough downhill ride?
  • Its roads are not well maintained. Make sure that your shock absorbers are in perfect condition before heading to the resort. The roads leading down to the resort from the gates are bumpy and weather-worn.
  • It's not for people who are looking for nightlife (unless you're looking for bats). Sorry guys, you could stay overnight but expect that there are no night parties on the beach.
You might want to rent a boat to explore the bay

    1. Hi Nikko,

Thanks for the comment. I sent them an email for updates several months ago, wala pa akong natatangap na response. I will PM them today and once I get an answer, I will update this blog. So far ganyan pa ang rate nila last 2017 when a friend visited last 2018.
