Star City - Pasay City

UPDATE:

Star City was razed by fire on the night of October 2, 2019. It still remains closed as of present.

Located less than five kilometers from Km 0 in Manila, Star City is an amusement park in the heart of a bustling city of Pasay.

Star City Details

The amusement park opened to the public in 1991. It began as a seasonal carnival which opens during the Christmas season. Throughout time the seasonal carnival evolved and became a "permanent resident" of the city that caters to kids and kids at heart. Star City was once open daily.

Entrance to Star City

Home to dozens of fun attractions and rides, Star City boasts its Giant Wheel Ferris Wheel. The Giant Wheel Ferris wheel is said to be the tallest of its kind in the Philippines. It has air-conditioned gondolas and each gondola is capable of carrying up to six people.

What a crowd!

If you're planning to visit and enjoy all the rides in Star City, I highly suggest that you avoid weekends and holidays. Those days are considered as the "peak season" of the amusement park. Believe me, it gets too crowded inside and you could only try out a few of its amenities.

  1. Some of the rides in star city amusement park are very similar to those in Disneyland, and my daughter had totally loved it while visiting the later. So, I am sure she will have a blast here. When I am around, i will make sure to take out tome and visit this park.

    1. Yes that's true. Some of the rides are actually more exciting than those in Disneyland. However, Disneyland's overall picturesque beauty still wins the day.

  2. I went recently to Enchanted Kingdom and surprisingly I enjoyed it even though I'm not a fan of amusement parks. Star City is the easily accessible version, with just as many challenging and bone jarring rides. Its version of "Anchors Away" tops that of EK I think.

    1. I agree with you Sam. Star City's Viking tops the Anchor's Away of EK. Same goes to the Gabi ng Lagim and Dungeon but EK leads in terms of overall beauty as there are a lot of picturesque areas to see there.

  3. As a kid I was quite fascinated with Star City and its rival, Boom na Boom. When I returned as an adult, it failed to impress me, especially when I compare it with the theme parks abroad. But I'd still recommend Star City to families, it still makes for a good childhood memory. I remember entering a horror house here, several years ago. At first I was very scared, then somewhere in the middle of the walk, I remembered that it was all fake and just like that, my fear was gone, hahahaha...

    1. Hahahaha, Same here. Although Star City is already an institution here in the PH, I believe that it has to reinvent itself.

  4. Looks like a good place to take kids and get into a fantasy world, but seeing more people in an amusement park raises my anxiety levels.

  5. I had no Idea about philipines before starting to read your blog. It seems a country with plenty of travel attractions both for kids and adults. I must keep this in mind
