Ifugao - Mt. Province - Benguet 2017 Tour

Long before the advent of social media, going to the inner municipalities of Ifugao, Mt. Province, and Benguet requires extensive research, patience, and luck. Today, one can easily visit these places simply by availing tour packages offered by different travel companies online.

Ifugao - Mt. Province - Benguet 2017 Tour

My wife and I took this opportunity to avail of the Sagada Tour Package of Travel Galore. For us, this tour package is a total blessing. Just to share... half a decade ago, we planned a do-it-yourself trip to Sagada. However, natural calamities like typhoons and landslides combined with personal reasons like our marriage and having a baby had put the said plan in the "pray-it-will-push-thru" bin.

Check out our stops in the map below:

What we find great about the tour package was the fact that despite being called a Sagada Tour Package, it is actually a tri-provincial tour. It is more of an Ifugao - Mt. Province - Benguet Tour with just an emphasis to Sagada.

Team Nicerio goes on a 3D/2N adventure to Sagada

The tour package is a 3D/2N tour that includes van transfer and hotel accommodations. It does not, however, include your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The tour is always scheduled from Thursday evening to Sunday evening unless you have a group that could rent the whole van (that is of course a different topic). Pick up point is in the SMX parking area in Mall of Asia and at McDonald's near SM North EDSA

Here's the tour itinerary:

Day 0: Manila - Ifugao

We were picked up in the SMX parking area at around 8PM and the van proceeded to pick up the rest of those who availed near SM North EDSA. The trip was quite fast because as I recall when I woke up at around 1AM we were already somewhere in Nueva Vizcaya.

Day 1: Ifugao - Mt. Province

Here's when our tour really began... Here's what we saw/did on Day 1...

A quick stop to take a photo of the Banaue arch in the province of Ifugao

Breakfast @ 7th Heaven Cafe in Banaue, Ifugao

Banaue Rice Terraces

Mt. Polis (Mt. Province- Ifugao Boundary)

Lunch at Lala Anita Restaurant in Bauko, Mt. Province

A side trip to the final resting place of the actor Marky Cielo

Checked in at Mapiya-aw Pensions

Day 2: Sagada Tour

Day 2 was where most of our adventure happened... Check out what we visited and tried the whole day:

The Episcopal Church of St. Mary the Virgin in Sagada, Mountain Province

Sagada Anglican Cemetery

Echo Valley

Hanging Coffins of Sagada

Sagada Weaving

Snacks at Sagada Lemon Pie House cafe and resto

Sumaguing Cave

Orange Picking in Rock Farm Inn and Cafe

Lake Danum

Sagada Pottery

Ganduyan Museum

Dinner at Strawberry Cafe

Snacks at Yoghurt House

Day 3: Mt. Province -Benguet -Home

The last day of our trip started out very early but it is still one of the most tiring...

Mt. Kiltepan sunrise viewing

A quick stop at Atok, Benguet to take a photo of the Highest Point of the Philippine Highway System

Amgaleyguey Vegetable Terraces in Buguias, Benguet

Strawberry Farm at La Trinidad, Benguet

Lion's Head in Baguio City, Benguet

Overall, my wife and I believe that the P2999/pax tour fee is totally worth it. Not only did we enjoy the sights and the adventure, but we also got to meet great people. Again... it was all worth it!

  1. I am glad to read your post! It takes a leap of faith to visit some place for which you have not harbored the most positive thoughts. Banaue arch looks stunning and so does your pic in front of Lake Danum! Thanks for adding another destination to my bucket list!
