Autosweep RFID Installation Guide

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, several progressive policies were placed to prevent the spread of the virus. One of these policies is the strict implementation of the cashless transaction in our tollways. Although cashless transactions in our tollways had been available since 2006, the majority of Filipinos still prefer cash payments however the pandemic changed all that.

Autosweep RFID Installation Guide

Although the initial launch of the cashless transaction during the pandemic caused inconveniences to many, it has been reported that about 3.7 million radio-frequency identification (RFID) stickers were already sold since December 8, 2020, according to Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Executive Director Engr. Abraham Sales. Aside from that about 90% of the toll roads now use RFID stickers.

Keep in mind that as of this writing, there are 2 RFID stickers used in our tollways. These are the:

Autosweep RFID used at Skyway, SLEX, NAIAX, STAR Tollway, MCX, and TPLEX.

Easytrip RFID used at NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, and CALAX.

In this article, I will only focus on the Autosweep RFID and I will share with you how to avail it, where to avail it, and how to install it.

How to Avail the Autosweep RFID:

First things first, you do not bring any documents when availing of the Autosweep RFID.

You will just fill up a form that is available online and also at any Autosweep RFID stations. This form requires the following information:
  1. Full name
  2. Mobile number
  3. Conduction number/plate number
  4. Vehicle make and model
  5. Vehicle color
  6. Your email address
Keep in mind that 1 Autosweep RFID account is good only for one vehicle. If you have another vehicle then you have to avail of another Autosweep RFID sticker.

Where to Avail the Autosweep RFID?

Autosweep RFID Installation:

Autosweep RFID stickers are easy to install and are done by authorized Autosweep customer service employees after you submitted your accomplished form.

Autosweep Card and RFID Sticker

There are RFID stickers that can be placed on your headlights and there are some that are placed in the windshield usually behind the rear-view mirror. However, keep in mind that a very heavy tint might affect the readability of the RFID sticker.

Upon installation, you will be asked to load your Autosweep RFID. The minimum load for your Autosweep RFID is 200 pesos. Maintaining balance is 100 pesos. If it goes lower than that, your account will be disabled. As for the maximum load, I read from some blogs that it is 3000 pesos.

It was only last Jan. 23, 2021, that I availed the Autosweep RFID sticker at the MCX Entry Toll Gate Installation Site. It was around 6PM when I arrived and was lucky enough to be the first in the queue. The whole process took around 10 minutes. That includes me filling up the form, the installation, and the loading of the RFID sticker.

Heads up, you are required to bring your own pen to be used in filling up the form, well that's for the MCX Entry Toll Gate Installation Site I'm not sure if that's the case for the other installation sites.

So, if you have a car, I urge you to head to the nearest installation sites and have an Autosweep RFID sticker installed to make your future trip cashless, fast, and hassle-free.
