Easytrip RFID Installation Guide

In the last article, I wrote about how the COVID19 pandemic brought new policies that lessen physical contact. One such policy is the cashless transaction in our tollways. To make that possible radio-frequency identification (RFID) stickers were "reintroduced" to our motorists and as of December 2020, about 90% of the toll roads now use RFID stickers.

Keep in mind that as of this writing, there are 2 RFID stickers used in our tollways. These are the:

Autosweep RFID used at Skyway, SLEX, NAIAX, STAR Tollway, MCX, and TPLEX.

Easytrip RFID used at NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, and CALAX.

In this article, I will only focus on the Easytrip RFID and I will share with you how to avail it, where to avail it, and how to install it. If you haven't read about my Autosweep RFID article you might want to check it out by clicking this link - Autosweep RFID Installation Guide.

How to Avail the Easytrip RFID:

First things first, you do not bring any documents when availing of the Easytrip RFID.

You will just fill up a subscription form that is available online and also at any Easytrip RFID stations. This form requires the following information:

You can also avail of it online. You can follow the steps below:
  1. Open the Lazada app or Shopee app.
  2. Search for “Easytrip” and click on the RFID product image in the results.
  3. Place your order as you would normally do when buying at Lazada or Shopee.
  4. Take note of the provided order number or checkout code upon checkout. You’ll use this number for your Easytrip RFID online registration.
  5. Fill out the online form at www.easytrip.ph/SIYRFIDForm.html to confirm your order. When you’re done, read and accept the terms and conditions. Then click the Submit button.
  6. Track your order online using your order number.

Keep in mind that 1 Easytrip RFID account is good only for one vehicle. If you have another vehicle then you have to avail of another Easytrip RFID sticker.

Where to Avail the Easytrip RFID?

Easytrip RFID Installation:

Easytrip RFID stickers are easy to install and can be done by authorized Easytrip customer service employees after you submitted your accomplished form or by you personally if you availed it online.

Easytrip RFID Installation

There are RFID stickers that can be placed on your headlights and there are some that are placed in the windshield usually behind the rear-view mirror. However, keep in mind that a very heavy tint might affect the readability of the RFID sticker.

Easytrip RFID payment and loading:

Upon installation, you will be asked to load your Easytrip RFID. The minimum load for your Easytrip RFID is 500 pesos. Maintaining balance is 100 pesos for class 1, 200 pesos from class 2, and 300 pesos for class 3 vehicles. If it goes lower than that, your account will be disabled. As for the maximum load, I read from some blogs that it is 3000 pesos.

There are several ways to reload your Easytrip RFID. These are your options:
  1. Over-the-counter payment on reloading and installation sites.
  2.  Over-the-counter payment on reloading centers
  • Robinsons Malls.
  • SM Supermalls.
  • Bayad Center.
  • Walter Mart.
  • LBC.
  • 7-Eleven.
  • TouchPay kiosks.
  • ECPay kiosks.

You can also reload using online apps such as:

  1. Coins.ph App
  2. GCash
  3. PayMaya
  4. BDO Mobile Banking App
  5. Metrobank Online App
  6. EON by Unionbank
  7. Smart Money

For Balance Inquiries:

  1. Head to Easytrip.ph.
  2. Click the RELOADING tab.
  3. To register, click SIGN UP and then supply the necessary details.
  4. Log in to your account.
  5. Click your registered account to check your balance.

It was only last Jan. 2, 2021, that I availed the Easytrip RFID sticker at the CAVITEX Toll Gate Installation Site. It was around 4PM when I arrived and during that time there was a long queue. The whole process took around 40 minutes. That includes the waiting time, me filling up the form, the installation, and the loading of the RFID sticker.

So, if you have a car, I urge you to head to the nearest installation sites and have an Easytrip RFID sticker installed to make your future trip cashless, fast, and hassle-free.
