Day 250: July 9, 2022

Saturday - Rumoi HS School Festival Day 1

It's a beautiful sunny weekend. However, I will report to work today because Rumoi High School is celebrating its 2-day Rumoi High School Festival.

Most of the clubs have rooms that they transform into booths. I stayed with my English Chat Club. Our club chose the theme of Harry Potter for this year. I helped them by setting up and managing the beer pong quiz. It was fun seeing my students play and answer questions about the Philippines. We wrapped up the first day at 3:30PM and cleaned the classroom we used before going home.

My day didn't end there though. That evening, I headed out to Joshua's house for the farewell party for Abi and Guy. I was too busy bonding with the ALTs that's why I wasn't able to take pictures. 😭

Our party ended at around 11PM. I got home 15 minutes later officially ending my 250th day here in Japan.

Sunday - Rumoi HS School Festival Day 2

It's a Sunday, and I'll be reporting to work at Rumoi High School on the second day of the festival.

Today's lineup of activities, it's all student performances from 9:30AM to 3:05PM.

It was fun watching my students (and co-teachers) from different levels dance their hearts out. I also enjoyed watching the pre-dance skits which are mostly really funny.

Overall, this is the first time that I get to experience a school festival in Japan. It will surely be one for the books.

Casa Hacienda de Tejeros - Cavite

Located in Rosario in the province of Cavite, Casa Hacienda de Tejeros is famously known as the location of the historic Tejeros Convention of 1897. Casa Hacienda de Tejeros Casa Hacienda de Tejeros history Casa Hacienda de Tejeros was originally built in the 17th century. The hacienda and its surrounding lands were formerly owned by the Augustinian Recollects. The estate was once the largest and grandest estate in the country. It once covered as much as 1,125 hectares with the casa occupying 4 hectares of it. It's due to the fact that the weaving industry is one of the major industries of the municipality of Rosario. Bonifacio Shrine in Indang - Cavite

Located in Barangay Limbon, Indang in the province of Cavite, the Bonifacio Shrine of Indang is one of the historical landmarks dedicated to the Father of the Philippine Revolution -Andres Bonifacio.  Bonifacio Shrine of Indang Bonifacio Shrine in Indang History Bonifacio Shrine in Indang marks the location of the nipa hut where Andres Bonifacio was seized and captured by the soldiers of his political rival and fellow revolutionary Emilio Aguinaldo in 1897. Jigokudani - Hokkaido

Jigokudani ( 登別地獄谷 ) or Hell Valley in English is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Noboribetsu City. Agusan Del Sur: Bunawan Ecopark and Wildlife Reservation Center

Found in Barangay Consuelo, Bunawan in the province of Agusan Del Sur, Bunawan Ecopark and Wildlife Reservation Center became famous for its world known centerpiece exhibit. Bunawan arc That exhibit is named Lolong , the world's longest salt water crocodile ever caught. Lolong was captured in Bunawan Creek, a part of the vast Agusan Marsh on September 3, 2011. Lolong In November of the same year, an Australian crocodile expert from the National geographic measured Lolong and confirmed that the crocodile was indeed the longest ever caught. the enormous Lolong measured 20 feet and 24 inches from snout to tail beating the Australian croc named Cassius which formerly holds the said title. Daisetsuzan National Park - Hokkaido

Daisetsuzan National Park ( 大雪山国立公園 ) spans 2,267 square kilometers and encompasses 16 peaks, offering diverse trails, abundant wildlife, and alpine flora. This is the largest national park in Hokkaido, Japan . This vast park covers parts of Kitami City, Asahikawa City, Furano City, and the towns of Higashikawa, Kamifurano, Minamifurano, and Kamishihoro.
