At Tomita Melon House, you'll find a melon theme park and direct sales store that offers some of the finest Furano melons hand-selected by professionals. These “honor student” melons are grown with care by farmers in the area and are of exceptional quality.

There are also cheaper sliced melons for sale |
Furano melons have a unique taste that is attributable to the land they grow on – surrounded by the Tokachidake mountain range and bathed in plenty of sunshine. These melons have a sugar content of over 15 degrees, and their sweetness is preserved during the cold night. They are delicious, exceptionally beautiful, and extraordinarily sweet, making them a must-try for fruit enthusiasts.

Tomita Melon House is also famous for its original and unique sweets that can only be found in melon specialty stores. The cut melons on the large showcase are a piece of art, and the melon bread made with a rich sweetness is a must-try for everyone. There are two types of melon bread: red meat melon bread and refreshingly sweet green meat melon bread. Many customers like to try both and compare their tastes.
Finally, if you need to stay connected to the internet, the store offers free Wi-Fi access, making it easy to share your photos with friends and family in real time. Team Nicerio visits Tomita Melon House
My family and I visited Tomita Melon House for the first time last September 10, 2022, as part of our September 9-11 Road Trip. It was my 313th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. Our visit was kind of a side trip as our main destination during the visit was Tomita Farm. However, we were surprised to see that Tomita Melon House has its charm. We enjoyed taking pictures on the numerous photo spots and of course, we also enjoyed the delicious melon products sold in Tomita Melon House.
Tomita Melon House Fees
It’s FREE to enter, explore, and take pictures of the numerous Instagram-friendly spots on Tomita Melon House grounds. However, I highly suggest that you bring cash so that you could try the different products sold here. If you’d ask me, one of the must-buy products here is the melon soft cream.
