Bihoro (美幌町) is a town in the Okhotsk Subprefecture of Hokkaido, Japan. The name of the town is from the Ainu language. It was believed to be either from “Piporo” [stones, many] or “Pehoro” [waters, many].

2. Take a picture of the Bihoro Pokemon manhole cover. It is installed in front of the Bihoro Station (美幌駅). The manhole cover features Vulpix and Alolan Vulpix with two Hoppips.
3. Visit the Bihoro Shrine (美幌神社). It’s the main shrine of the town of Bihoro. You can pay your respects and offer prayers here any time of the day. Don’t forget to avail of the shrine’s goshuin if you are collecting them.
4. Check out the Bihoro Aviation Park (美幌航空公園) and snap pictures of or with the preserved jet plane. It’s also a nice place to stroll around. If you’re lucky, you will see radio-controlled plane enthusiasts flying their planes.
5. Visit the Kishiwagaoka Park (柏ケ丘公園). This vast park has a baseball field and a track and field. Aside from that, you will also see the preserved Steam locomotive C58 No. 82 (蒸気機関車C58 82号機). The park is a great place to go for an early morning or afternoon stroll.
6. Pitch a tent and stay overnight at Bihoromidorinomura Forest Park Camping Ground (美幌みどりの村森林公園キャンプ場). It’s a vast camping ground that is popular not only with locals but also campers from different parts of Hokkaido. This place can get crowded during the camping season. The camping fee is 440 yen per adult and 330 yen for children.
7. Attend the Bihoro Tourism Wagyu Festival. It is held every 2nd Sunday of July. It’s one of the biggest BBQ events in Hokkaido with more than 300 barbecues set along the banks of Abashiri River (網走川). It’s also the best time to try the Wagyu Beef of Bihoro.
8. Visit the Bihoro Museum (美幌博物館) and learn about farming and the history of Bihoro Town. The admission fee is 300 yen for adults.
9. Visit Bihoro Roadside Station, formally called Roadside Station "Bihoro-toge” (道の駅 ぐるっとパノラマ美幌峠). It’s a very nice facility. There is a bakery inside. Aside from the high-quality bread, it is also recommended that you try the ageimo which is said to be one of the most delicious in the region. You can also buy Bihoro-themed souvenirs. The roadside station is also the jump-off point for the Bihoro Pass Observatory. If you collect roadside station stamps then this place is a must-visit.
10. Head up the Bihoro Pass Observatory (美幌峠 展望台) and see the breathtaking view of Lake Kussharo. It’s free.
