Monday – Lab Test #2 at Rumoi Municipal Hospital
It’s a beautiful Monday. I’m back at Rumoi High School. On the other hand, my second lab test at Rumoi Municipal Hospital is also scheduled today. Thankfully, Sekiguchi-san is available today to accompany me and help me with the translations, a challenge my wife and I faced last time I went for my 1st Lab Test.Rumoi Municipal Hospital |
We left Rumoi High School going to Rumoi Municipal Hospital at around 8:30 AM. The whole process took about 5 hours. Most of which were waiting times. It was past 1 PM when we left the hospital. Sekiguchi-san drove me home after the lab test so that I could eat lunch before going back to Rumoi High School.
When I got to Rumoi High School, there was no collaboration work waiting for me but Matsuda-sensei talked to me about the plans for tomorrow’s classes.
That afternoon, I met with the members of the English Club and we discussed our Christmas plans for the club. It looks like it’s going to be a fun December month for us.

During the 3rd-period class, I was amazed to discover that today was Pocky Day. This is because November 11 is 11.11 which looks like the famed Pocky sticks. It’s not a holiday but a day to commemorate and enjoy the delicious snack. One student even brought several boxes of Pocky which he shared in class.
Overall, it’s another fulfilling week here for me as an Assistant Language Teacher under the JET Programme. I learned a lot of new things today and as always, enjoyed the company of my JTEs. For this week I visited Rumoi High School, Teshio High School, Embetsu Agricultural High School, and Tomamae Commercial High School. I’m looking forward to my next workweek.
