Being Featured in Hokkaido Shimbun
Our accomplishment of visiting all 179 municipalities earned recognition in Hokkaido Shimbun, one of Japan’s leading regional newspapers. This feature not only celebrates our journey but also highlights Hokkaido’s diverse attractions, encouraging readers to explore the region’s less-traveled paths.Hokkaido Shimbun's digital article about our Hokkaido 179 Adventure |

The article sheds light on the challenges and triumphs we faced, including navigating remote areas, engaging with locals, and experiencing Hokkaido’s culture firsthand. It’s a testament to the power of travel in fostering connections and understanding.
However, what didn't make it to the story is that we didn't just visit all these municipalities, we also accomplished some other things like:
- We visited all roadside stations of Hokkaido
- We hunted and took photos with all the Hokkaido Pokemon manhole covers
- We took a photo of at least one manhole cover of each municipality
- We visited the major shrines of each municipality
Moreover, each of these is documented and shared here on my website. However, during the interview, we were informed that the newspaper had limited space, so some details wouldn’t be included. 😢😢😢
