Team Nicerio visits Iwao Onsen Attamaru
My family and I visited Iwao Onsen Attamaru last November 23, 2022, which was the Labor Thanksgiving Day holiday here in Japan. It was also my 387th day as an ALT under the JET Programme. We were able to visit during a beautiful clear day and we were able to witness the beautiful sunset from the outdoor onsen. It was truly a memorable onsen experience.

Parking is FREE. It can accommodate around 42 cars.
Bathing Fee is 500 yen per adult and 250 yen for children 4 – 12 years old. Children under 4 are FREE.
Iwao Onsen Attamaru Operating Hours
Iwao Onsen Attamaru is open from 11 AM to 9 PM. Keep in mind that the Bathing Reception closes at 8:15 PM.
Iwao Onsen Attamaru is closed on the third Thursday of every month for cleaning and maintenance. If the third Thursday happens to be a public holiday, the onsen would be open to guests and would be closed the next day instead.

Getting to Iwao Onsen Attamaru
The best and highly suggested way to visit Iwao Onsen Attamaru is by private or rental vehicle. From Sapporo City, drive along the scenic Route 231 straight to Iwao Onsen Attamaru.
If driving is not an option, then from Sapporo Station Bus stop #32 board the Limited Express Haboro bus of the Engan Bus Company and board down at Motokawa-cho bus stop in Rumoi City. Here's the timetable and fare matrix 👉LINK.
