10 Things to Do in Hatsukaichi City
10 Things to Do in Hatsukaichi City |
Hatsukaichi (廿日市市) is a city of Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Hatsukaichi City was once a land that was part of the ancient Aki Province. It was first established as a town on April 1, 1889. The town merged with four neighboring villages in 1988 and then with the town of Saeki and the village of Yoshiwa in 2003 making Hatsukaichi an expanded city and also dissolving the Saeki District in the process. The city has jurisdiction over the famed Miyajima Island/Itsukushima Island. The kanji used for its name hatsu (廿) means twentieth, nichi/hi/ka (日) means day/sun, and ichi (市) means city.
