Eiraku Yumenomori Park Revisited 2022
On the 12th day of our 2018 Japan trip, my daughter and I visited Eiraku Yumenomori Park. My Japanese godfather took us there to give Ella and me more bonding time. For me, it was a nostalgic experience since I had my first solo adventure in the nearby Okuyama Ameyama Natural Park four years earlier, when it was just a forested area.

We revisited Eiraku Yumenomori Park on December 31, 2022, which marked my 425th day in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. This time, my wife was able to join us, along with our Japanese godfather’s family. It was wonderful to revisit the park after half a decade. Additionally, I explored parts of the park I hadn't seen before. Overall, it was a fun and memorable experience.

In addition to its natural areas, Eiraku Yumenomori Park offers a cleared space filled with play equipment, including seesaws, obstacle courses, swings, and several slides, with the giant slide being the most popular. This slide can accommodate up to 20 children side by side at its top, standing 20-30 feet high. While there are cemented steps to the top, adventurous kids can tackle the log obstacle course next to the steps.

Another favorite feature is the dome-like trampoline, where children can spend hours jumping and bouncing. My daughter, for example, enjoyed nearly an hour on it.
