It’s a beautiful morning. We spent the morning at home resting and helping our Japanese family with the household chores.

I was able to go up to that observatory during our visit last 2014

That afternoon, we drove to Eiraku Yumenomori Park so that the kids would have playtime together. The park is located in Kumatori in Osaka Prefecture. It's a perfect place to visit if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Aside from the playground equipment, there is also a walking path around the park and up the hill where visitors can see the Eiraku Dam.

From there, we drove to the nearby Sennan City to watch the sunset and also stroll at
Sennan Long Park. The beachside park has a beautiful view of the Kansai International Airport Bridge. Some places in the park were illuminated making them a go-to place for those who love taking pictures. There was also some playground equipment that Ella and Karin enjoyed.

Before leaving the park, we stopped by the Starbucks which is also inside the park grounds to get some coffee, rest, and chat with the Kameyama family.

Afterward, we walked to Aeon Mall Rinku Station where we had dinner at the food court. We ordered from different shops for the food of our preference. I ordered mine at Torisaku. Before heading back home, we gave the kids time to play at the play area of the mall.

From there, we drove back home. We didn’t call it a day yet though. Since it is the last day of the year we stayed up and watched the Kohaku Uta Gassen while waiting for the New Year.

Although the New Year event here is less noisy than that in the Philippines, I’m still thankful that we celebrate it with family.

Happy New Year everyone! I pray that your 2023 will be amazing.

Day 426: January 1, 2023

Sunday – Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! It’s the first day of 2023. To start the year, we ate the traditional osechi.

Since most of the establishments are closed today, we just stayed home and spent time with each other.

No grill? No problem!
No yakiniku pan? No problem!

That night Mr. Toshi asked if we could cook yakiniku for them so we drove to Aeon Hineno Store to buy ingredients for the yakiniku meal. Although we didn't have a yakiniku grilling pan, my wife and I used what we had to cook a dish that tasted like the yakiniku that our Japanese family requested. At the end of the day, we were happy to see how everyone enjoyed the meal.

Overall, this weekend was unique and special as it contained the last day of 2022 and the first day of 2023. It was another memorable weekend as we got to spend it with family.
