Weekend 61: December 31 – January 1, 2023
Day 425: December 31, 2022
Saturday – New Year’s Eve with our Japanese Family
Another beautiful morning here in Kumatori, Osaka |
Good morning! |
I helped Mr. Toshi prepare our breakfast for today. |
It’s a beautiful morning. We spent the morning at home resting and helping our Japanese family with the household chores.

The walking path that leads to the part of the park with a higher elevation |
The gazebo at the end of the walking path |
We first headed back home to get some things before driving out again. |
That afternoon, we drove to Eiraku Yumenomori Park so that the kids would have playtime together. The park is located in Kumatori in Osaka Prefecture. It's a perfect place to visit if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Aside from the playground equipment, there is also a walking path around the park and up the hill where visitors can see the Eiraku Dam.
Next stop: Sennan Long Park |
Watching the sunset at Sennan Long Park |
Ella and Karin had fun using the play equipment in the park |
There was an illumination that night at Sennan Long Park |
From there, we drove to the nearby Sennan City to watch the sunset and also stroll at Sennan Long Park. The beachside park has a beautiful view of the Kansai International Airport Bridge. Some places in the park were illuminated making them a go-to place for those who love taking pictures. There was also some playground equipment that Ella and Karin enjoyed.
Coffee break at Starbucks in Sennan Long Park |
This is what I ordered. |
Before leaving the park, we stopped by the Starbucks which is also inside the park grounds to get some coffee, rest, and chat with the Kameyama family.
Next stop: Aeon Mall Rinku Station |
We went to the food court for dinner |
After dinner, the kids played in the play area of the mall. |
Afterward, we walked to Aeon Mall Rinku Station where we had dinner at the food court. We ordered from different shops for the food of our preference. I ordered mine at Torisaku. Before heading back home, we gave the kids time to play at the play area of the mall.
We watched Kohaku Uta Gassen while waiting for the New Year |
From there, we drove back home. We didn’t call it a day yet though. Since it is the last day of the year we stayed up and watched the Kohaku Uta Gassen while waiting for the New Year.

New Year family picture with the Kameyama Family |
Although the New Year event here is less noisy than that in the Philippines, I’m still thankful that we celebrate it with family.
Happy New Year everyone! I pray that your 2023 will be amazing.
