My family and I visited Sennan Long Park for the first time last December 31, 2022. It was my 425th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. Our visit was all thanks to our Japanese family who brought us there to enjoy the sunset and also to show us around this new tourist spot in Sennan. Since it was December, it was quite cold when we visited. Regardless, we enjoyed the view from the beach area. Sennan Long Park was also very clean. After strolling along the beach, we decided to sip at the park’s Starbucks. It was a perfect way to end our visit.

Getting to Sennan Long Park

 

From Kansai International Airport, walk to the Kansai Airport Station. Board the Nankai-Limited Express Rapit Beta 44 Toll Limited Express Nankai-Namba train to Izumisano Station. 

Transfer to the Local Wakayamashi train of the Nankai Line and board down at Tarui Station.

Once there, walk for about a kilometer to Sennan Long Beach.

Kokawadera Revisited 2023

The first time that we visited Kokawadera ( 粉河寺 ) was during the 14th day of our 2014-2015 Japan Trip which was actually during the 1st of January. Our main reason when we visited the temple was to accompany our Japanese family on their religious obligations during the Japanese New Year. This is called hatsumode .  Kokawadera Revisited 2023 Hatsumode is the Japanese tradition of visiting a shrine or temple for the first time in the New Year.
