Pokemon Center Osaka (ポケモンセンターオーサカ) is one of the two Pokemon specialty stores in Osaka City. It is located on the 13th floor of the Daimaru Umeda Store in 3 Chome 1-1 Kita Ward, Umeda, Osaka City in Osaka Prefecture, Japan.

Pokemon Center Osaka details

Pokémon Center Osaka first opened its doors in 1998. In November 2010, it relocated to its current, more spacious location on the 13th floor of the Daimaru Umeda building. This prime location is conveniently situated just a few minutes walk from both Osaka Station and Umeda Station, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists.

At Pokémon Center Osaka, fans can find exclusive merchandise, including a special Pikachu plushie dressed in a Takoyaki T-shirt, a tribute to Osaka's famous street food. This unique item is a must-have for collectors and can only be found at this particular Pokémon Center. Sadly, it was already out of stock when we visited so we weren't able to avail of one. Instead, the store is selling the Pikachu Wedding Special Edition Plushies. We bought the Garden Wedding Bride Pikachu instead.

Team Nicerio visits Pokemon Center Osaka

My daughter and I visited the Pokemon Center Osaka for the first time last January 5, 2023. It was my 430th day here in Japan as an ALT under the JET Programme. During our visit, the special Pikachu plushie dressed in a Takoyaki T-shirt was already out of stock. Instead, they have the special Garden Bride Pikachu on sale which we availed of course. The store wasn’t that crowded when we arrived so we were able to window shop before finally settling with the Garden Bride Pikachu.

It’s FREE to enter and explore the Pokemon Center Osaka store. However, make sure to bring money so that you can buy the limited edition Pikachu plushies or any merchandise that you desire.

The Daimaru Umeda Store is just a 5-minute walk from Osaka Station (JR Lines) and a 10-minute walk from Umeda Station (Hankyu Line). From there, a single elevator ride will take you to Pokemon Center Osaka.
