San Sebastian Basilica - Manila

Located at Pasaje del Carmen Street, Quiapo in the City of Manila, the  San Sebastian Basilica is known as the only all-steel church or basilica in Asia and is claimed to be the only prefabricated steel church in the world. It is the seat of the Parish of San Sebastian and the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. It was constructed on September 11, 1890, and was completed in 1891. The basilica has a Gothic architectural design. It was designated as a National Historic Landmark by the Philippine government in 1973 and was also included in the Tentative List of possible designation as a World Heritage Site in 2006.

Located in Maharlika Highway, Libertad in Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte, Sto. Niño Diocesan Shrine is unlike most of the churches that I usually blog about. Why? Simply because the church is a Post-Spanish Era church or let us say modern church. Sto Niño Diocesan Shrine Sto Niño Diocesan Shrine is also known as Sto Niño Parish or Sto Niño Shrine. The church was founded in 1986 and was declared as a Diocesan Shrine in 2000. The image of the Sto Niño or Holy Child that was brought to Butuan City by Ferdinand Magellan can be found in the church. One of the most popular waterfalls in the Philippines is Maria Cristina Falls . The falls is located in Iligan City in the province of Lanao Del Norte.  The falls is popular because of its "Twin Falls". It is due to the fact that the falling water is divided into two because of the huge rock at the mouth of the drop. However, because the falls is used by Agus VI Hydroelectric plant, the flow of water is usually controlled.
